Case Study - Too old for severance allowance?

Description

This case study is based on the case Dansk Industri, C‑441/14. It can serve to elaborate on the general principle of the prohibition of discrimination on grounds of age and its interrelation with Article 21 of the Charter and Directive 78/2000. The case also poses questions of how general pricniples of EU law enshrined in the Charter have to be applied at the national level and in disputes between private persons.
